A birth chart is a map. The signs are the flavors, the houses are the rooms, and the planets are the actors moving through them. Get the planets, and the rest of the chart starts to read itself.
The three layers
Signs (12) — the how. Aries does things impulsively, Taurus slowly, Gemini curiously. Each planet picks up the flavor of the sign it's standing in.
Houses (12) — the where. Each house is a room of life: identity, money, communication, home, romance, work, partnership, intimacy, philosophy, career, community, the inner life.
Planets (10) — the who. The actual actors. Sun is your core, Moon is your inner life, Venus is what you love, Mars is what drives you. Click any planet below to read what it does and what its placement in your chart means.
